09/05/09 - Poole Borough 2, Westland
Sports 1. - Match Report
Borough avenged their worst
defeat of the season with a narrow victory at
Turlin Moor against their visitors from Somerset,
a result which guaranteed the Hornets at least a
top three finish in Paul Harding's first full
season in charge, as well as completing an
unbeaten home record in the league.......Report

Chickerell United 1. - Match Report
With both sides challenging
for runners-up spot and the Chickens coming to
the Moor on the back of a 7 match winning streak
in the league Borough knew they were in for a
battle, and although the home side will feel they
had the best of the chances, either side could
have snatched victory as the game opened up in
the second half.......Report

0205/09 - Sturminster Newton 2,
Poole Borough 3. - Match Report
Borough came away from
Barnetts Field with the three points required to
keep their hopes of securing runners up position
in their own hands, but they certainly did it the
hard way after going a goal down from the penalty
spot and having to play the final hour with 10
men after captain Ross Mills was sent off for a
deliberate handball in the area, they twice
fought back to secure the lead before the points
were finally theirs...........Report

Borough made the best of
the difficult windy conditions to record their

with a hat-trick from Rodrigo Pons the highlight
of an all round excellent team
performance...........Report

25/04/09 - Wareham
Rgrs Res 1, Poole Boro Res 5. - Match Report
Borough finished their
season off in style with another away victory at
a windy Purbeck Sports Centre as safe in the
knowledge that they had the runners up spot in
the league they looked to finish the season on a
high, but to Warehams credit they put up a
brave effort and at times troubled the normally
assured Borough defence.............Report

- Poole Boro U18's 4,
Weymouth Terras 2.. - Match Report
Borough returned to the top

victory with Matt Head finishing off the season
in style by bagging himself a hat trick.......... report |

18/04/09 - Poole Borough 2,
Wincanton Town 2. - Match Report
Borough were left with an
uphill battle after going two goals down in the
first 20 minutes, and despite pulling a goal back
through Rodrigo Pons before the break and
dominating the second half they were initially
denied by some top class saves from visiting
keeper Chris Loader before Pons finally earned
the Hornets a share of the points with a superb
strike in injury time..........Report

- Hurn Jets United 0, Poole
Boro U18's 1. - Match Report
Borough went to top of the
table, after completing a sensational double
against long term league leaders Hurn Jets.
Despite coming under severe pressure in the
closing quarter of the game, Boroughs
defence and goalkeeper Carl Dominey performed
heroically to hold firm and keep the first clean
sheet against Hurn Jets this season, and it was
once again Jamie Williams who was the goalscoring
hero, as he came off the bench to fire home the
all important winner......... report |

|
16/04/09 - Cranborne 0, Poole
Borough 2. - Match Report
Two goals from Sean
Gallagher either side of the break capped a much
improved performance from the Hornets, but the
Borough striker also saw two conversations
inexplicably disallowed to deny him his hat-trick
in a highly charged but ultimately entertaining
encounter at Pennys Lane.........Report

11/04/09 - Poole Borough 1,
Sturminster Marshall 1. - Match Report
As with the reverse fixture
at Churchill Close, Borough paid dearly for their
failure to convert their good approach play into
goals, but this time around Sturminster looked a
much stronger unit and thoroughly deserved the
draw which is likely to have put an end to
Borough's outside chance of lifting the
title..........Report

11/04/09 - Swanage
T&H Res 2, Poole Borough Res 5. - Match
Report
Boroughs penultimate
game resulted in a well deserved win, with a few
old faces helping out due to un-availability of a
few players, coupled with PORTERS well
taken hat trick, the teams day in the sun was
well worth the trip and thoroughly deserved
against a game but ultimately well beaten Swanage
side..................Report

- Poole Boro U18's 4, Hurn
Jets United 3. - Match Report
Borough under 18s
produced what was undoubtedly their best
performance of the season to beat the league
leaders. Every Borough player did themselves
proud, with some sensational work rate and team
spirit, and despite being pegged back three times
having taken the lead, Jamie Williams came off
the bench to fire home a deserved winner.........
