Two second half goals saw Borough grind out an important victory and register their first win at Moor Lane in three attempts. After Mariusz Iglewski gave Borough the lead mid-way through the second half, the home side challenged hard in the final stages of the game, with the result in balance until Sean Gallagher came off the bench to make the game safe with two minutes remaining. With Dan Burton making the switch to Bournemouth Poppies, keeper Andy Knights made his debut for the first team after some excellent performances in the reserves, while second team top scorer Luke Stone also made his first senior start for the Hornets.

The first half was a scrappy affair with few chances at either end. The home side created the first goal attempt on five minutes with a close range header from a free kick which cleared the bar. Borough looked more effective when they played their passing game, as was demonstrated on 20 minutes, with their first clear chance as a fine build up gave Iglewski the space for a shot, but his low drive went wide.

On 23 minutes Borough came close again, when a low centre from the left by Joe Toghill flashed across the face of the goal and Stone was first to the loose ball and sent a return pass back into the six yard box, where Rodrigo Pons under pressure steered his first time shot over.

Some solid Borough defending limited the home side to a number of long range efforts, which Knights coped with easily, but Wincanton's best chance came on 33 minutes with a quick breakaway down the left saw the ball worked across the area, but the final shot was off target.

Borough had the ball in the net on 40 minutes when Joe Toghill broke clear down the left before sending a low cross into Pons to steer home, but the Argentinean was adjudged to have been offside as the ball was fed through, while on the stroke of half time Iglewski sent Stone through on goal, but the home keeper did well to block the resulting shot.

Half Time 0-0.

Borough came out stronger after the break and Pons went close within three minutes of the restart with a header from an Iglewski cross which went narrowly wide.

Iglewski was again provider on 60 minutes, sending Stone clear down the left, but a home defender did well to cut across and block the final shot. However Borough took a fortunate lead from the resulting corner as Iglewski sent the ball in from the left and no one was able to get a touch as it curled inside the far post. 0-1.

Further Borough pressure saw Stone shoot narrowly wide after cutting inside from the left, while Toghill was denied by a defender as his shot from the right was deflected over.

As the half progressed Wincanton began to step up their game as they looked to find a way back, and on 71 minutes Knights did well to collect a dangerous centre just below his cross bar under pressure from a home striker, while 3 minutes later a home forward broke through on the right but shot over.

The Borough defence tightened up well following those scares and the Hornets came close to sealing the game on 78 minutes when Iglewski shot narrowly over after being set up by Toghill, however they finally ended the home sides spirited resistance two minutes from time when Daryll Williams sent in a cross from the right which bounced around the Wincanton area before Sean Gallagher, who had only been on the pitch for a minute, tucked the loose ball home. 0-2.
