Borough earned a well deserved draw at the Wessex Stadium against a Weymouth side boasting five first teamers in their line up, with the Hornets performance based on a rock solid defensive display, which included an impressive debut from man of the match Patrick Murray at right back.

Both sides were cautious in the first half, but the first clear chance came from Borough on 11 minutes when Lucasz Balinski sent Dominic Allen into space down the left and his final shot went narrowly wide.

The home side came close on 19 minutes when a forward just failed to connect to a low drive from the right, but four minutes later Allen rattled the Weymouth crossbar with a dipping drive from 25 yards out.

However Borough desiverdly took the lead on 25 minutes when a home defender failed to cut out a teasing ball over the top from Steve Tricky and Maciej Jaksztas nipped in to slot past the advancing Austin Byfield in the home goal. 0-1.

However before the break Borough had to survive two close chances in as many minutes as first a low drive from 20 yards out went narrowly wide and then a home striker found himself in space inside the area, but blasted over.

Half time 0-1.

The steady rain during the first half turned into a heavy downpour which lasted throughout the remainder of the game making conditions difficult for both sides and Jakub Malara was tested within the first minute with a low drive which he did well to smother, while the home keeper was also in action to deny Balinski.

With the game opening up, Malara did well to palm away a free kick under pressure from a home forward on 61 minutes, but Borough want straight down the other end and Murray shot narrowly wide from just outside the area.

But Borough were caught on the break on 70 minutes as a Hornets corner was cleared quickly down the right flank and Foster got to the by line before whipping in a cross which was converted at the far post by Tyler Sibbick. 1-1.

On 73 minutes Malara was called on to make a sharp save low down, while within a minute the home keeper had to be alert to cut out a right wing cross with his legs.

Into the final 10 minutes Borough has to defend in numbers as Weymouth sensed the chance to steal a victory and Ross Mills made a superb last ditch tackle to deny a shot while Adam Watson headed a cross off the line.

At the other end Kieran Mulvey curled a shot narrowly over, however Borough were forced back yet again before the final whistle and had to survive a rasping drive which went just wide and a dipping shot which clipped the bar, but the Hornets held out to collect a share of the spoils.
