Borough continued their unbeaten run in Dorset Division 1 with their 12th league win of the season after a 4-0 home victory against Beaminster.

Borough attacked from the kickoff with both Dan Herrington and Alex Gunn going close before on 5 minutes a Chris Morgan cross was intercepted by Andy Coles and Alex Gunn was on hand to stroke the ball home from just outside the box.

Beaminster responded by forcing two corners in quick succession but Gunn had two further chances for Borough, volleying over the bar and hitting the side netting before on 23 minutes he increased the score after Alan Fooks managed to knock the ball away from a defender in the area and the loose ball fell to Alex Gunn on the right to claim his second goal.

On 29 minutes, Sean Hebdon was unfortunate not to open is goal tally for Borough when his powerful header from a corner cannoned off the bar and just before the interval Scott Smith latched onto an Alan Fooks cross but his shot was saved by the keeper.

HT 2-0

The second half saw sustained Borough pressure, Smith had a header cleared and both Alan Fooks and Pete Morrell saw shots go over the bar. Beaminster were still breaking forward and Andy Gunn had to produce a fine one handed save from a close range shot to deny a Beaminster fight back.

Borough finally increased the lead on 78 minutes when a Tony White free kick was converted by Pete Morrell with a diving header inside the area. Further Borough pressure was rewarded five minutes from time when Tony White converted a penalty after Alan Fooks was bundled over in the area, to keep the Hornets firmly at the top of the table.
