Borough took some time to settle before Dave Holdroyd created the first clear chance after 16 minutes when his long-range header hit the bar. There was a scare for Borough as Andy Gunn had to scramble the ball clear after failed to connect first time to a back pass, but that was a rare chance for Blandford, as Borough dominated and further chances fell to Richard Hobbs, who had a shot pushed into the bar by the keeper and Diaz when he glanced a header onto the post from a corner. The deadlock was finally broken after 31 minutes when a shot from Fooks was blocked in the box by Blandford defender Martin Oddie, who tried to clear the loose ball whilst on the floor, but could only lift it into his own net. The floodgates now opened and both Holdroyd and Alan Fooks denied by good saves from the visitors 'keeper. Three minutes before the break Borough were rewarded as Dan Herington scored the second with a well struck shot after Dan Cockwell pulled the ball back from the by-line, and a minute later and Alan Fooks made it three when he was first to the ball after the Blandford keeper could only parry a long range shot. HT 3-0 Borough continued to pressure after the break, but were only able to create a couple of half chances, before on 64 minutes the Blandford keeper failed to intercept a back pass and Diaz was on hand to walk the ball home. Inside the last 10 minutes the Borough completed their victory with two further goals, as firstly Alan Fooks converted a Holdroyd knock down and with five minutes remaining a Tony White free kick was floated across the area and captain Pete Morrell rose above the Blandford defence to head home his fifth goal of the season.
