Borough Man of The Match : Richard Hobbs

After only one win in the last four games Borough manager Paul Arnold made three new signings before this game. Tony Diaz was unable to make his debut owing to illness, but Richard Hobbs and Tommy Heffernan both started. Borough were made to work hard for the three points and it was an injury time goal from Dan Herrington which sealed a vital 3-2 win for the League leaders.

Hobbs forced a first minute save from Wills and then Morrell hit a free-kick just wide after Hobbs was fouled. Dorchester took the lead in the 12th minute when Hillier headed in at the far post. Borough fought back and a White cross found Hobbs whose header was well saved. Both sides had chances before Borough equalised in the 36th minute. A deep White cross was headed back by Alex Gunn and Hobbs forced the ball home to score on his debut.

HT 1-1

The second half was uneventful until Borough took the lead on 69 minutes. White and Gunn again combined for Alan Fooks to curl the ball over the keeper. Borough pressed to extend their lead, but with only five minutes remaining , they were caught out by a long ball from defence, which Hillier headed on and keeper Andy Gunn was caught off his line as the ball looped over him.

An exciting last few minutes saw corners at both ends but it was a surging run by Alex Gunn which set up Herrington to shoot through a crowded goalmouth for an injury time winner.
