Andy Gunn - Signed from Parley in the close season. Ever present and has made some critical saves.

Defence

Dan Cockwell - made his debut in 1999, he immediately impressed with a display that belied his sixteen years and has now made the right back position his own. Dan is only 17 and is a sixth-former at Poole Grammar School. He has ambitions to go to university and study for a sports related degree. He has played for Poole Town Youth since he was 8 years old and is currently a member of their Under- 18 side. He is also a keen cricketer and turns out for Poole O.Gs. in the summer months. Voted last season’s Young Player of the Year award winner.
Pete Morrell - joined the club as player-coach, he has played for Hamworthy United, Poole Town, Weymouth, Dorchester, Wimborne, Bashley and Hamworthy Engineering. Pete sustained a ligament injury in last September but returned in the closing stages of last season to earn his well deserved medals for league runners up and cup winners. Club captain and ever present this season.
Paul Arnold - Paul returned to football to manage Borough after a break of 4 years. Former reserve team player at Southampton for 6 years, he joined Weymouth in 1979 and captained the Terras for 380 of his 450 games. Paul joined Poole Town as player manager in 1988 and remained for 3 years where he won promotion to the Southern League Premier Division in 1990. Paul also managed Dorchester and was assistant for Bashley before work took him away from the game. Paul has been required to turn out a few times as player for Borough, and has put in some solid performances.
Tommy Heffernan - Dublin born, signed by Tottenham but never played in their first team. Signed on a free-transfer by Alec Stock for Bournemouth in 1979 and became a favourite with the Dean Court crowd. Played in every game in the promotion season from Division 4 in 1981/2. Sheffield United paid £20,000 for him in 1983 to strengthen their defence in the then second division. He was ever present in his two seasons at Sheffield before Harry Redknapp brought him back to Bournemouth. He was a member of the squad that won the Division 3 championship in 1986/87 ( the only player to play in both Bournemouth promotion teams). He eventually left the Cherries after having made a total of 217 league appearances for them. In non-league football he has had spells with Poppies, Sturminster Marshall, Hamworthy Engineering and Parley Sports.
Tony White - Former Northern Ireland Youth and U-23 international. Made one appearance for AFC Bournemouth in 1985. Played for Dorchester Town for many seasons and was at Newport IOW last season. Penalty specialist.
Ross Gulliver - Signed during the middle of last season, prior to picking up a bad injury, , Ross earned himself a regular place in the side with some confident games at the back. Has made a number of appearances from the bench this season.
Shaun Hebdon - Tough tackling centre half, a new signing for the 2000/01 season after recently moving into the Dorset area. Has played for Brockenhurst in the Wessex League. Especially impressed in the Dorset Senior Cup ties against Wimborne.

Mid-field

Dave Holdroyd - a solid, tough tackling and uncompromising player whose ball winning challenges in midfield are often the starting-point for Borough's attacks. As a teenager Dave played for Springbourne, Parley Sports and Wessex League Brockenhurst and was a regular member of the Dorset County Youth team.. He also played for Poole Town Reserves and was handed his Southern League debut by Paul Arnold in their side away to Hastings in the 1988/89 season when he was 17 years old, and although that was Dave's only full Southern League game he was selected as substitute on several other occasions. Dave's Studies then took priority as he took a Sports degree at Eastbourne. A further two year break from football occurred when he was diagnosed as having a brain tumour. After recovering he joined Hamworthy United and also had spells at Bournemouth Poppies and Flight Refuelling. He scored four goals last season, normally from close range. Suffered a series of injuries which has restricted his appearances this season.
Gary Fooks - A skilful player, son of Alan who played one game for us last season before joining Hamworthy United. Plays either right back or midfield.
Dan Herrington - A new signing for the 2000/01 season, Dan has looked comfortable in both winning and distributing the ball and has scored some vital goals.
Andy Coles- Right back or midfield, a new signing for the 2000/01 season, previously played for Wimborne Reserves. Has impresed and won the Manager's Player of the month for January.

Mark Thomas - A young left sided player who turned out for the Marina club last season in Division 3.


Forwards

Alan Fooks - played 18 seasons for Swanage, only interrupted by a season of Western League football with AFC Bournemouth, 'Wishy' has been a prolific goal scorer all his career, and estimations are that he has scored more than 500 goals for the Swans with an incredible 61 in one season. He has also had spells with Blackfield, New Milton, Downton, Wimborne and Flight Refuelling, where he played last season. At 41 Alan has lost none of his sharpness in front of goal and proved it by netting 55 times last season.
Scott Smith - an apprentice at AFC Bournemouth and played for Poole Town and Wimborne before spending three seasons at Bournemouth Poppies. Scott formed a good partnership with Alan Fooks and was the second-highest goalscorer with 39 goals.
Alex Gunn - 24 years old and has had a lot of experience playing in the Dorset Combination since he was 17. He started with Bournemouth Sports and then moved on to Hamworthy United before joining Flight Refuelling following a break from Saturday Football. Alex signed for Borough in October 1999 from Flights, making his debut at Beaminster. Alex also plays on Sundays for the Dorset Soldier in Division Two of the Dorset Sunday League.
Chris Morgan - Young left-sided player who made 16 appearances last season at left back. Also plays for Poole Town Youth U-18's. He has moved up to the left wing this season and has impressed, causing a constant danger to the opposition defence.
Tony Diaz - a vastly experienced player and prolific goal scorer in his days at Dorchester Town, and has also played for Poole Town, and Bridport. Tony now plays midfield or sweeper and has appeared in both Dr Martens and Wessex League football this season for Bashley and Brockenhurst respectively.
Richard Hobbs - New signing. Forward who formerly played for Parley scored on his debut picking up Man of the Match for his performance.

Kieron Wall -Free scoring forward signed from Poole Town, where he was to scorer last season with 20 goals, abd has scored 6 goals from 12 starts for the Dolphins this season. Scored two goals on his debut for Borough, including the first in 15 seconds.
