Scorers : Tommy Heffernan (pen) 3, Scott Smith 80, Alex Gunn 83
Borough Man of The Match : Gary Fooks

Borough came away from their hardest test so far with all three points despite a below par first half performance. Without the unavailable Herrington and Hebdon, Craig Shanley and Dan Cockwell made their full debuts for the season.

Borough had the best possible start when the referee awarded a penalty for handball in only the 3rd minute, and Tommy Heffernan calmly scored from the spot. Chickerell immediately went searching for an equaliser and Dan Burton got down well to a header.

After 15 minutes Kieron Wall was beaten to the ball and as Burton came out to the edge of his area, the Chickerell forward rounded him and bore down on the open goal. As he shot he was brought down by the keeper but fortunately the ball crossed the line and so the referee awarded the goal and Burton escaped punishment when a red card and penalty would surely have been given if the goal had not been scored. The rest of the first half was scrappy with both teams giving the ball away, although Alan Fooks went close with an opportunist overhead kick and Chickerell also looked dangerous on a couple of occasions.

H-T 1-1

Borough improved greatly in the second-half and were camped in the Chickerell half for the first 20 minutes. However, despite good build up play they could not find the finishing touch. Wall, Cockwell and Alan Fooks all went close to increasing the lead but Chickerell held firm. The home team then had a good spell themselves and Burton tipped over a free-kick and the defence were stretched a couple of times when Chickerell broke forward.

The deadlock was broken with 10 minutes to go when Gary Fooks headed a ball over the defence to Scott Smith , who deftly lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper. The lead was increased three minutes later when a Heffernan free-kick was touched on by Alan Fooks for Alex Gunn to score from close range. Borough played out the remaining minutes to keep their 100% record intact. Gary Fooks battled well in midfield, whilst Craig Shanley had a steady game in defence.
