Borough dominated the opening period, but were unable to convert their supremacy into goals until the 22nd minute when Kieron Wall, playing un an unaccustomed role in the centre of defence, stole forward to head in a cross at the far post.

Cobham created only a couple of chances towards the end of the half, but just before the interval Alan Fooks increased the lead when he nipped in behind the home defence to head in a deep cross.

HT 2-0

The home side, which included a number of first team players, reverted to a more physical approach in the second half and it wasn't until Matt Bircumshaw had to be replaced following the effects of a bad challenge that the referee reverted to the book to retain order.

Chris Morgan came on and immediately caused problems down the left and a cross on 69 minutes found the head of Danny Herringon but the ball cannoned off the bar and Scott Smith was unable to convert the rebound. Borough finally increased the lead on 76 minutes when Morgan was brought down on the by-line and Tommy Heffernan rolled the free kick back to Alan Fooks to hammer home.

Borough created further chances in the last 15 minutes but were unable to convert until their final efforts were rewarded when Gary Fooks unleashed a pile-driving shot which came back off the bar, but the midfielder was quick to follow through and made no mistake in slotting the rebound past the keeper.
