Although playing on a bumpy pitch, which caused problems with Borough's passing play, the Hornets still coasted to a 6-0 victory with Alan Fooks collecting a second half hat-trick as the side passed the 100 league goals milestone for the season.

Borough needed just 6 minutes to open the scoring, when Okeford could only clear the ball as far as Gary Fooks on the edge of the area and the midfielder rifled in. The lead was increased 10 minutes later when Gary Fooks was the victim of a clumsy tackle in the area and Matt Bircumshaw buried the resulting penalty.

The home side were restricted to playing long balls forward into space, but they did break through on the half-hour and Henry Simpson, making his debut in the centre of the Borough defence, executed a superb tackle to deny a home striker.

Borough increased the lead five minutes before the break when Gary Fooks sent Paul Getley free on the right and his subsequent low cross was met in the box by Scott Smith, who steered the ball past the keeper.

HT 0-3

Borough's 100th goal came early in the second period with Getley again the provider, making space before sending over a right wing cross which Alan Fooks met at the near post to head in. Alan Fooks's second came on 66 minutes as Gary Fooks sent over a high cross which the veteran striker controlled well before blasting home.

With Alan Fooks looking for his third, he was unfortunate to see a free kick deflected onto the bar, and was denied twice by the home keeper, but after Gary Fooks was again tripped in the area Wishy stepped up to convert the spot kick.

As Borough pushed forward to increase the score further, the home keeper kept the core down, making two good saves against Smith and also blocking an Alan Fooks attempt at point blank.

Borough - Dan Burton, Criag Shanley, Paul Getley (Alex Gunn 54), Kieron Wall, Henry Simpson (Andy Coles 61), Mark Reeks (Dan Herrington 66), Jimmy Edwards, Matt Bircumshaw, Scott Smith, Alan Fooks, Gary Fooks.
