Borough Man of The Match : Adam Nash

Borough saw their five match unbeaten run come to an end as the Royals punished them for a below par performance.

Borough created early chances for Scott Smith and Alan Fooks, but both strikers shot wide. Blandford took the lead on 16 minutes after breaking down the right, with the resulting cross turned in by Robertson at the far post.

Four minutes later Paul Getley drove a diagonal ball into the area, but it somehow alluded three Borough players running into the box. Scott Smith saw a shot collected low down by home keeper Martin, but Blandford also created chances on the break and Alex Gunn did well to clear under pressure.

Borough finally drew level on 37 minutes when Alan Fooks headed goalwards and Smith arrived at the far post to bundle the ball home. Blandford, however took the lead again four minutes later when Vator intercepted a poor pass and ran through to score.

Just before the break Gary Fooks was tripped in the area and the midfielder stepped up himself to convert the spot kick to put Borough level at the break.

HT 2-2

The second half was much more open with both team pushing forward looking for the winner. Blandford had a penalty awarded then oveturned by Referee Driffield before they regained the lead for the third time on 59 minutes when Prowse headed home a corner.

Borough put Blandford under pressure looking for a way back but home keeper Martin made three superb saves, first point blank to deny Alex Gunn then he somehow got his hand to a close range shot from Matt Bircumshaw and finally he pushed a drive from Gary Fooks onto the bar.

The Royals always looked dangerous on the break and Minchin capped a worthy win for the Royals as he ran through to score and secure only their fourth of the season.

Manager's Quotes..........

Borough boss Peter Morrell said: "Our work-rate was poor and they definitely had a bit more spirit about them. I will be making a few changes for our next game. Some of the players are just playing out the season but it should not be like that we should be trying to win every game."

Blandford manager Jamie Murray said, "At times we rode our luck and our keeper made two very good saves but I think we deserved it. We got a little bit of luck, which we have not had in previous weeks".
