Borough Scorer : Gary Fooks 32.
Borough Man of The Match
: James Edwards

Borough fell to their heaviest defeat of the season and although the scoreline failed to reflect the share of possession, Phil Simpkins’s youngsters did an excellent job of soaking up Borough’s attacks before punishing the Hornets on the break.

Both sides put chances wide in the early exchanges and Gary Fooks went close for Borough on 19 minutes when a deep left wing cross from Lee O’Connell just eluded him at the far post.

It was Dorchester however who took the lead on 23 minutes when Paul Nash latched on to a long ball forward to convert past a stranded Paul Maitland in the home goal.

Matt Bircumshaw almost made a immediate response for Borough but his shot was blocked by Magpies keeper Steve Blandamer, but on 32 minutes the Hornets drew level when Scott Smith slipped the ball to Gary Fooks at the edge of the area whose superb low strike flew just inside the post.

Maitland saved well with his legs on 38 minutes, but Aaron Turner but put the Magpies back in the lead from the resulting corner with a near post header. Just before the break Dorchester increased their lead after Maitland mis-kicked a clearance, presenting Nash with an easy conversion.

HT 1-3

Borough pushed forward in the second half and in a good 20-minute spell created a number of chances. Tony White latched on to a quickly taken free kick and his shot beat Blandamer but came off the far post and Gary Fooks saw two further chances go narrowly wide.

Dorchester, however snuffed out any chance of a Borough revival with the speed of their counter attacks, as first Steve Legg broke through from the halfway line before lobbing the advancing Maitland from 40 yards on 71 minutes and a swift break down the right eight minutes later saw the ball squared to Lee Christopher, unmarked, to tap in to an empty net.

Blandamer made another good save to block a downward header from James Edwards but the home defence was breached again with 5 minutes remaining as Christopher raced down the right and crossed to Turner on the far post to hammer home.

Borough : Paul Maitland, James Morrell (Alan Fooks 59), Tony White, Dan Herrington, Sean Hebdon, Lee O’Connell (Paul Getley 77), Alex Gunn, Matt Bircumshaw, Scott Smith, Janes Edwards, Gary Fooks (Bradley Asagba 77).
