Borough Man of The Match :
Gary Fooks

Borough cruised to an emphatic victory against struggling Weymouth Sports at Turlin Moor inspired by a superb first half performance up front from new signing Darrent and a two goal haul from Gary Fooks.

The home side took the lead on 7 minutes when a free kick was headed across goal by Tony White and Mark Reeks was on hand to bundle the ball over the line. Blenman gave the visiting defence a torrid time and Weymouth keeper Graham Butler was fortunate to get his foot to a shot from the striker on 10 minutes. Blenman broke through again on 27 minutes and Butler palmed his shot away, but Scott Smith was on hand to dispatch the loose ball.

Blenman deservedly picked up a goal 10 minutes later a he latched onto a through ball from Dan Herrington and drew the keeper before shooting just inside the post. The Borough defence were rarely troubled, but when Sports did break through, Dan Lomax timed his tackle superbly on the edge of the area to deny a visiting forward.

A minute before the break Fooks secured Borough's fourth when he collected a short pass from Herrington wide on the left and struck a superb dipping shot which caught Butler off his line.

HT 4-0

Borough completely dominated the second half and Fooks scored his second on 55 minutes, as be beat the offside trap and cheekily pushed the ball through the advancing keeper's legs.

Pete Morrell took advantage of the lead to bring on all his substitutes. Young striker Danny Chappell, who scored on his debut for the reserves the week before, came off the bench to collect the sixth with 15 minutes remaining, as a low cross from Alex Gunn was dummied by Smith allowing Chappell a simple tap in at the far post.

Borough : Maitland, Edwards, Reeks, White, Lomax (Hebdon 60), Herrington, Gunn, Bircumshaw (Clarke 60), Smith, Blenman (Chappell 50), Fooks.
