Goalkeeper

Adam Nash - Tall, 16 year old goalkeeper who joined the club this season and impressed in the reserves last season with his safe handling and confident keeping before being given the chance to step up into the first team where he impressed during his 9 starts. Deservedly promoted to first choice keeper this season and the only ever present in the squad.

Defence

Dan Herrington - Signed at the start of the 2000/01 season and had previous Southern League experience at Dorchester Town.. Plays down the left side, he looks comfortable in both winning and distributing the ball and has also scored some superb long range goals. Left the club briefly mid season for Cobham but returned to complete his century of first team appearances.

Sean Hebdon - Tough tackling centre half, signed prior to the 2000/01 season after moving back into the Dorset area and has played 86 games for Borough. Previous Wessex League experience with Brockenhurst. Stepped up well into the Premier League last season and as well as his defensive qualities will also cause problems in the opposition box.

Tony White - Vastly experienced defender and former Northern Ireland Youth and U-23 international, who made one league appearance for AFC Bournemouth in 1985. Appeared for Dorchester Town for many seasons and played a season at Newport IOW before signing for Borough at the start of the 2000/01 season. Joined Wessex League Wimborne as captain during 2001/02, but a change in personal circumstances lead to him rejoining Borough last season. Stepped up to become Player-manager in December.

Shaun Clarke - Signed from Hamworthy United in October 2001 to bolster the midfield, a good ball winner who looks dangerous going forward. A good clubman who has had to alternate between starting and making his appearances from the bench last season, but has been brought in to provide a holding role in from of the back four this term, an inspired move which has seen him playing probably his best football for Borough.

Martin White - Experienced player, won a Dorset Premier League winners medal with Hamworthy United last term before joining Borough in the close season. Strong and tough tacking, is able to provide a holding role both in defence or midfield. Has decided to hang up his boots at the end of this campaign.

Scott Orchard - New signing from Hamworthy United in November. Tall centre-half who was a regular in the Hammers first team during the previous two seasons and quickly established himself as a regular at the back.

Danny Cockwell - A first team regular for Borough from 1999-2001 during the clubs first two seasons after joining as a 16 year old and made over 50 appearances during that period. Left Borough after going to University in Southampton but one of Tony White first decisions as manager was to bring him back into the squad in December.

Midfield

James Edwards - Club Captain, signed from Bournemouth Poppies in November 2001 but returned to Victoria Park briefly before committing to Borough. A highly skilful midfielder who has superb vision and distribution as well as being hard to knock off the ball when going forward and possesses a deft touch in front of goal. Finished joint top scorer this season and was also selected to represent Dorset.

Gary Fooks - A skilful player who played one game Borough in the 1999/2000 season before joining Hamworthy United. Gary re-joined the club at the start of the next season and playing either right back or midfield and always gives the club 100%. Lifted his game to another level over the last two seasons as he has shown the maturity to curb his instincts which had put him in conflict with officials in the past and in consequence delivered some inspired performances. Won the Supporters Club Player of the Year last season.

Jamie Wilson - Made his Borough debut during the 2001/02 season, while a student in Bournemouth and over the last two seasons he has established himself as a first team regular and impressed with some incisive performances on the right.

Stuart Merrell - Experienced midfielder and another close season signing from Hamworthy United's championship winning side, linked well with James Edwards in the middle of the park before being sidelined by injury and left the club in February after failing to re-establish his place in the side.

Paul Getley- Made his first appearances for Borough during the 1999/2000 season while a local student before rejoining the club the following year and turning out for the newly formed reserve side. He broke back into first team contention during Borough's Dorset League title winning campaign in 2001/02 with some skilful performances on the right and was selected for the Dorset U21 squad. Last season's Players player of the Year, he now travels down from Watford to play for Borough and has still impressed although performances this term have been limited.

Forwards

Matt Bircumshaw - Signed from Wessex League Swanage & Herston at the beginning of the 2001/02 season, a talented and skilful who is equally comfortable in midfield but has been deployed up front for most of the season.. A regular goalscorer, has netted 25 times for Borough.

Alex Gunn - Joined Borough early in the 1999/2000 season, Alex has had a lot of experience playing in the Dorset Combination since he was 17. He started with Bournemouth Sports and then moved on to Hamworthy United before joining Flight Refuelling following a break from Saturday Football. Plays either in the middle or wide on the right where is direct style always makes it difficult for opposition defenders and is always dangerous when he gets to the by-line. Holds the club appearance record, passing the 150 mark just before the end of the season.

Scott Smith - An apprentice at AFC Bournemouth and played for Poole Town and Wimborne before spending three seasons at Bournemouth Poppies. Scott is the last playing member of the inaugural Borough side that played its first match in 1999. Not just an out and out striker but shows some great close control in the area to make space and is also responsible for a great many 'assists'. The clubs second top goalscorer unfortunately had to step down in November due to work commitments.

Steve Russell - A talented left winger who played Southern League Football for Poole Town and in the Combination for Hamworthy Engineering before serious injury left him sidelined for a long period. Signed for Borough in the close season, capped his debut with two goals.

Kieron Campbell - Tall bustling forward also signed from Hamworthy United in the close season and his presence up front has provided Borough with a strong physical presence. Scored on his debut and completed the season joint top scorer as well as supporting the reserves in their title winning campaign.

Alan Fooks - Veteran striker and an icon in Borough circles, after playing 18 seasons for Swanage as well as spells with AFC Bournemouth Reserves, Blackfield & Langley , New Milton, Downton, Wimborne and Flight Refuelling. Joined Borough when the club was formed in 1999 and scored 55 times in that first campaign and never missed a match during the first three seasons, as well as heading the goal scoring charts over the same period. Holds the club goal scoring record, netting 135 times, he left the club at the beginning of the season after playing opportunities were limited but returned in February although he was unable to add to his goal tally.
