Borough Man of the Match: Sean Hebdon

Honours were even in the East Dorset derby as Borough and Holt battled out a scoreless draw at Turlin Moor. With both defences were in the ascendancy goalscoring efforts were at a premium, however the Bulls will feel frustrated that they didn't snatch all three points in the final minutes as they failed to convert three clear opportunities.

Borough were disappointed to be denied an early chance when a forward pass found Dan Herrington in the clear but the game was pulled back for an earlier foul on a Borough player.

On 12 minutes Simon Freak carved out the first chance for the visitors as he latched on to a flick on from Jason Lovell but his shot went over the bar. Five minutes later a Borough defensive clearance was charged down and Sean Hebdon did well under pressure to clear the loose ball for a for a corner. From the flag kick a goal mouth scramble ended with Matty Parkin heading off the line

Holt came close again on 37 minutes as a forward latched on to a poor defence clearance and shot narrowly over. Two minutes later a quick through ball picked out Freak clear in front of goal but his shot on the volley was straight at Adam Nash.

In the final minutes of the half Borough came close with a 25 yard free kick from Tony White which went narrowly over the bar, while Mark Vincent also shot over from distance.

Half Time 0-0

Borough came out stronger after the break but again the opportunities fell to Holt and a good interchange with veteran forward Jason Lovell saw his strike partner through but his shot hit the side netting.

With 20 minutes to go Borough brought on Ben Truan and Gary Fooks for Jamie Holland and Mark Vincent and with his first touch Fooks steered the ball into the path of David Perry whose close range shot was deflected past the post by former Hornets keeper Dan Burton.

Borough's best chance came on 78 minutes as Fooks sent a high ball into the area which Danny Herrington met with a shot on the turn, but Burton got across well to palm the ball away at full stretch.

As full time approached, the Borough back line were wrong footed by Holt through ball down the right channel and as home defence hesitated looking for an offside flag, the ball was steered low into the area but the final shot took a deflection on its way goalwards.

Into injury time a shot from Holt's Scott Bradford also was also deflected wide off a defender, while a final chance from the Bulls saw a fierce drive into the penalty box somehow headed over by a visiting forward who was stationed a yard in front of the goal line.

Borough: Adam Nash, Matty Parkin, Tony White, Andy Barham, Sean Hebdon, Danny Herrington, Alex Gunn (Matt Bircumshaw 73), Jamie Holland (Ben Truan 68), David Perry, Mark Vincent (Gary Fooks 68), Matt Morris.
