Borough Scorers: Jamie Holland 3, 41; David Perry 45, 86.
Borough Man of the Match:
Dan Herrington

Two goals each for strike partners Jamie Holland and David Perry were enough to overcome a strong Sturminster Newton side with the Borough defence also playing their part to record the clubs ninth clean sheet of the season.

Borough had a dream start after only three minutes when Holland latched on to a through ball and coolly dribbled past the Richard Young in the visiting goal before rolling the ball into an empty net.

Holland was denied a further chance on 7 minutes after being set-up by Coles but a home defender did well to deflect the shot. On 16 minutes Borough were nearly gifted a goal when a Stur back pass went behind Young but with the keeper struggling to recover the ball went just the wrong side of the upright.

Sturminster were limited to long range shots which didn't trouble Adam Nash, but the Borough front line were also muted until 35 minutes when Holland cut in from the right and his low shot was well saved by Young at the near post.

On 38 minutes Herrington whipped in a cross from the left which caused panic in the home defence before the ball was cleared for a corner, but the home pressure finally paid off on 41 minutes when Dan Moore send Holland down the left and the striker cut inside before beating Young at his near post.

Young kept his side in the game two minutes later with a good block at full stretch from a Matt Bircumshaw drive, but could do nothing at the stroke of half time as Holland broke down the left and pulled the ball back from the by line for Perry to convert.

Half Time 3-0

The second half was played out mostly in midfield, but Borough continued to string together some good passing moves and nearly increased the lead on 59 minute when a Bircumshaw shot from the edge of the area took a deflection and the ball fell into the path of Perry wide on the right but his shot hit the side netting.

On 67 minutes Sturminster created their best chance as they finally broke through the Borough defence, but the forward's shot was well blocked by Nash who recovered quickly to deny the same player again from the rebound.

Borough did get the ball in the net on 74 minutes when a good interchange between Holland and Perry set up Ben Truan but the goal was disallowed for offside, and the same occurred 10 minutes later as Shaun Clarke was adjudged to be offside when he steered in a low cross from the left by Perry at the far post.

However Borough did get their fourth five minutes before the end after Gary Fooks was fouled on the edge of the area and Perry stepped up to curl the free kick wide of Young and just inside the right hand post.

Borough: Adam Nash, Andy Barham, Tony White, Gary Fooks, Sean Hebdon, Danny Herrington, Dan Moore (Ben Truan 73), Jamie Holland (Dan Cockwell 79), David Perry, Andy Coles (Shaun Clarke 79), Matt Bircumshaw.
