The final league game of
the season saw the top two sides battle it out for the
title in front of a large crowd at Turlin Moor. Borough
matched their opponents for much of the game, but in the
end Weymouth proved too strong on the day. However the
Borough lads still did themselves and the club proud to
take runners-up spot. Well done lads.

Report:
After a delayed start due to the Wimborne pitch
being double booked, Boro got of to a good start with George
McDonell scoring two within the opening minutes.
Sam Bayston was brought down in the area, and the ball
was handed to Jack Fendley to score his first Boro goal,
only to see the ball go over the bar. Minutes later Boro
were awarded another penalty, after quick footed Sam
Bayston was again fouled in the box. Up stepped Jack
Fendley and this time he did beat the keeper
with a well placed shot into the bottom left corner. HT 0-3.
Wimborne started the better side within the opening
minutes and soon found the back of the net after some
good passing. Boro regrouped and were solid at the back
for the rest of the game. Wimborne gave us a tough game
in the second half. Ashley Hancoks lofted pass found the
head of Jack Avery, who nodded home.
Minutes later Shane Brown turned a Wimborne player well
and slotted the ball to Sam Burridge on
the edge of the box. Sams close control took him around
three defenders and scored from an acute angle to make it
5 - 1. Every Boro player gave absolutely 100%. A big well
done to the boys. Play like this for the last game of the
season and you could still win the league. Moff

Mid-Season
Round-up
As the Youth section
entered the Christmas break it was clear that all the
players and management had again done the club proud with
their performances so far this season. Pride of place
goes to Borough Under 8's and Under 10's who both lead
their respective divisions, but it would be unfair to
omit any of the youngsters who represent this club. Their
progress therefore is as follows:
Poole Borough U12's
- Dorset Youth League U12's Division 2
Currently in fourth position but with two games in hand
over leaders Broadstone they are certainly in the
breakaway pack of four sides who are challenging for the
title and recently inflicted a 7-5 defeat of second
placed Ashdown Rovers Raiders to cement their credentials.
Record: P 11, W 7, D 1, L 3, GF 29, GA
26, Pts 22. Position: 4th out of 11.
Poole Borough U11's
- Dorset Youth League U11's Division 1
In second position and hot on the tail of league leaders
Weymouth FC with only a single point separating them,
these two teams have opened up a gap on the remaining
clubs, with Ashdown Rovers the only other team in the
running. It is also worth noting that the team are
currently averaging over 5 goals per game.
Record: P 11, W 9, D 0, L 2, GF 56, GA
21, Pts 27. Position: 2nd out of 9.
Poole Borough U11
Hornets - Dorset Youth League U11's Division 3
The Hornets currently lie in fifth position with an even
six wins and six defeats, they produced an excellent
performance to go through to the third round of the
Dorset Cup after a 4-1 victory against Division 2 side
Chickerell United.
Record: P 12, W 6, D 0, L 6, GF 56, GA
29, Pts 18. Position: 5th out of 8.
Poole Borough U10's
- Dorset Youth Mini Soccer U10's Section 1
Proudly top of the league and three points clear,
averaging 5 goals a game and with a game in hand of
second place Weymouth FC who they beat 3-2 in mid-October.
The only other challenge will be from Ashdown, six points
behind with two games in hand.
Record: P 8, W 7, D 0, L 1, GF 40, GA 12,
Pts 21. Position: 1st out of 9.
Poole Borough U10
Hornets - Dorset Youth Mini Soccer U10's Section 3
Second in the league and only two points behind unbeaten
Cannon, the Hornets are but currently on a run of 8
unbeaten games and are well placed in the chasing pack
should the leaders slip up.
Record: P 10, W 8, D 1, L 1, GF 46, GA 9,
Pts 25. Position: 2nd out of 11.
Poole Borough U9's
- Dorset Youth Mini Soccer U9's Section 3
Third placed behind runaway leaders Wareham and Ashdown
Colts they are almost certain of a top four place and
having narrowly lost out to their Canford Heath based
rivals 2-0 in mid-November will be looking for the win
against the Colts to split the current top two.
Record: P 10, W 7, D 0, L 3, GF 25, GA 9,
Pts 21. Position: 3rd out of 11.
Poole Borough U8's - Dorset Youth Mini Soccer
U8's Section 1
Top of the pile and remaining unbeaten this season,
dropping only one point out of 30 and having played two
fewer games than their rivals. Wins have included an
impressive 5-0 victory away to New Forest Rangers a 2-0
win against league leaders Lytchett Red Triangle which
saw them take over top spot whilst also putting 12 goals
past Parkstone Heights.
Record: P 10, W 9, D 1, L 0, Pts 28. Position:
1st out of 9.
Best of luck
to all Borough sides for the remainder of the season.

Report: Another good team performance by the u10s
the Hornets, saw 7 goals in the oppositions net. All 7
goals came from good teamwork seeing Conner
Dennis putting 2 in also netting twice each was Dan
Clarke and Lewis Mitchell with Callum
Neat converting one. The defence Gibbo and
Callum kept them away in first half with King Cole
letting us know at half time he was bored. Second half
saw them get through a couple of times but king Cole was
there to smother the ball every time to keep a clean
sheet. The midfield played well knocking the ball around
and some good set plays from the throw ins set up to of
the goals. Dan Jordan and Lewis keep up the good work. Up
front again Conner kept the pressure on not letting them
rest (dont forget you boots next game!!!!). Lester
came on and got stuck in with some good 1-2 linking up
with the midfield to keep the game flowing.

Report:
An excellent performance by the Hornets in the cup win
over Swanage, who are two leagues above them. Every
player gave their all on Sunday from NO FEAR King Cole in
goal to nothing is going to get past me Gibbo and side
kick Robbo who found some pace for the game making a good
tackle on the penalty spot. Boroughs first goal
came after a brilliant 1:2 between Dan Clarke and Jordan
Pennington who unselfishly passed the ball to Lewis
Mitchell to run onto and bang it into the back
of the net 1-0. Then it was a corner from that man Jordan
who in the previous 2 games has scored from a corner, put
a good ball across and it was met by Dan Clarke
with his head to place it straight into the back of the
net. Up front cool man Conner chased every thing going
his way and put the home keeper under plenty of pressure.
Then came their goal just a minor blip. Five minutes to
go run Lewis couldn't run any more so on went super sub
Callum who got stuck straight in straight away to a
difficult thing to do in such a hard game. WELL DONE LADS
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Dean.

Report:
We travelled to Ringwood today to play NFR , the pitch
was rather like a farmers field but the boys adapted to
it rather quickly. Playing up hill in the first half, it
was a kind of scrappy battle which saw us go 2-0 up. The
first goal came from Declan Randall, with a strike from
outside the penalty area blasting into the back of the
net, nice one Dex, a well deserved goal. Dennis Sparey
producing another great run saw him strike one past the
keeper. A defence change saw Niall Wilkinson and Alex
Burridge come on, Well defended boys. Second half saw NFR
still playing hard in our own half, with them hitting the
post 3 times, also a keeper change from Ryan saw Hayden
make a great save, keep it up Hay. Dennis played to his
max hitting home another great shot in the back of the
net, another striking performance from Den ,keep it up !!
Joel Foy followed with a great goal with the boys
starting to pass the ball to each other and using the
space on the pitch, nice one Joely Boy! George Gibbs
ended the game with a cracking goal leaving the keeper
standing!!! Great strike George. Louis Kellaway gives 110%
each match he plays, making crucial tackles and excellent
passes, the CAPTAIN gave it all today yet again, well
played today Louis. A good performance today from the
team maintaining our unbeaten record for the year 2004. -

Under 8's Go Top Of The League
Lytchett Red Traingle were top of the league and
undeafeated until WE CAME ALONG!!
Whilst on warm up the boys seemed to be on a different
planet as they did not have a care in the world , as the
coach I could not emphasize how this game was the most
important game of the season, with that in mind the boys
trundled on down to the pitch and took up their positions.
As soon as the whistle blew we did not give them a
chance, we knocked the ball around playing as a team and
made some crucial tackles to win the ball in the center
of the pitch. George Gibbs was on fire , he kept the
defence in line with his turns of speed and tackles he
stopped the R/T attackers with even getting a sniff at
goal on several occasions. If anyone has seen THE
INCREDIBLES yet the little boy on there is what George
reminded me of yesterday. Well Done Georgey BOY!! The
first goal was scored from a build up in our own half
with Harry Weston and Joel Foy knocking the ball to each
other and a great pass through the center of the pitch by
Joel to Dennis Sparey and what tremendous finish as
always by Dennis,Well Done Den. Alex Burrbridge came on
in the second half and showed that where ever you play
him he always gives his best,Well Done Alex. The second
goal came in the second half, yet again another build up
from our own half keeping the pressure on saw Harry knock
one in the right hand corner to go up 2-0, Well Done
Hazzer. The keeper Ryan Oliver kept a clean sheet with
some quick clearances from his area passed to his team
mates,Keep up the good work Ryan. Well done to Louis
Kellaway again another great performace as the Captain.
This game is about playing as a TEAM and this TEAM BORO
UNDER 8s worked hard as a TEAM yesterday with each player
making their own mark on the game we must carry this
through to next weekend with our final match of 2004
againist New Forest Rangers and this one will not be a
push over BOYS !! - Jon Weston

Boro U11's remain top after a tough game against
3rd from bottom Wimborne Town Boys. Boro scored 1st goal
from right winger Chris Kaye, but Wimborne stepped up
their game to equalise quickley. Sam Bayston finished
well to make it 2-1 at half time.
Boro started the 2nd half the stronger team and made it 3-1
with a cracking goal from central midfielder Ashley
Hancok. Shortly after Ashley scored again with a slight
deflection from a Wimborne player. Within five minutes
substitute Jack Parnell scores with his third touch of
the game after arriving at the far post from a good cross
from Ashley. With the game seemingly sewn up Wimborne
scored their 2nd goal from a Boro error. We must remember
not to be complacent and play strongly to the final
whistle.

Ashdown Rovers raised their game from the last

After conceding a goal in the first half , we had to
raise the tempo with a cross coming in Harry Weston
knocked the ball in the right hand corner to go level at
half time.
Our level of fitness saw us go ahead with minutes to go
with a short cross from Joel knocked back by Harry with
Joel scoring the winner!!!
Captain Louis Kellaway had a storming performace covering
all areas of the park . WELL DONE!!!!!!
