Borough Scorers: Andy Barham 37, Alex Jones 90.

Borough extended their unbeaten run to four games following a narrow victory in the local derby against Cobham Sports at Turlin Moor, but it took a stoppage time strike from Alex Jones to separate the sides as Borough almost paid for their failure to transform their majority possession into goals.

Borough dominated the first half and came close on 12 minutes when Danny Neville squared to Simon Edwards on the edge of the area, but the final shot went over. Four minutes later Wassim Elhuadhi made a strong run down the left before seeing his final shot deflected wide and minutes later a David Perry shot from the right flashed just past the far post.

Borough however finally took the lead in the 37th minute as new signing Gary Clarke was sent into space down the right before cutting the ball back to Andy Barham who rifled home from 20 yards out. Further Borough pressure saw a Perry shot deflected just wide of the post and Clarke also headed just over.

However in the dying minutes of the half Stuart Amey had to come out quickly to block a shot and then did well to punch a corner clear at the near post.

Half Time 1-0.

Gary Clarke came close again immediately after the break with another header just wide but Cobham nearly equalised on 57 minutes when Sean Leaton was dispossessed in the area and the loose ball was sent across goal where it fell to Alex Gunn but his final shot was off target. A minute later Leaton attempted to head clear a Cobham cross only to see the ball come deflected on to his own crossbar.

Borough however maintained the upper hand and nearly doubled their lead on 67 minutes as Gary Clarke headed a deep cross from Alex Jones back across goal and Perry connected from 6 yards out but could only steer the ball over.

Cobham though looked to have secured themselves a point on 85 minutes when Dan Moore curled over a right wing corner, took a defensive touch before going in off the crossbar.

However with the game moving into injury time Dan Young was pulled back as he appeared to have broken clear of the Cobham defence and Jones stepped up to curl a superb 25 yard free kick over the Cobham wall, and despite a final flurry of corners from the visitors Borough held on to secure all three points.

Borough: Stuart Amey, Sean Leaton (Shaun Clarke 60), Tony White, Danny Neville, Sean Hebdon, Simon Edwards, Gary Clarke (Dan Young 68), Andy Barham, David Perry, Alex Jones, Wassim Elhuadhi. Unused sub: Shaun Brooks.
