Poole Borough (1) 1, Dorchester Town Reserves (0) 1. Dorset Premier League Saturday 4th February 2006 Borough Scorers: David Perry 25. After going into the break a goal up Borough had to weather some sustained pressure late into the second half from the Magpies before securing a well fought draw at Turlin Moor. Early chances were at a premium but Dorchester carved out an good opportunity on 17 minutes when a high ball across the area alluded the head of Sean Leaton and a visiting forward latched on to the ball but shot over. It was the Hornets however who took the lead on 25 minutes when Wassim Elhuadhi did well to win the ball in midfield and dispatched a quick forward pass which sent David Perry clear through on goal and Borough's top scorer beat the visiting keeper with a shot from the edge of the area. Dorchester came close to equalising five minutes later with a low drive which Borough keeper Stuart Amey pushed onto the post before Sean Hebdon came in quickly to clear the danger. Almost immediately Elhuadhi sent Perry clear again but the home keeper came out quickly to block the resulting shot. And the woodwork come to the Magpies aid on 34 minutes after Dan Young battled well to get to the by-line before sending over a deep cross and Elhuadhi connected on the half-volley only to see his shot cannon off the cross-bar. Dorchester however finished the half on top as first Amey tipped over a header from a corner before another Magpies attack saw the final shot go narrowly wide. Half Time 1-0. Perry breached the Dorchester offside trap just after the break but his final shot went over. On 57 minutes Elhuadhi carved out another gilt-edged chance making space on the left before cutting the ball inside to Simon Edwards as he ran into the area but his final shot went just the wrong side of the upright. A minute later Perry just failed to get a touch to a Sean Hebdon flick on from a Tony White free kick floated into the area. As the half progressed Dorchester began to gain the upper hand and on 65 minutes Danny Neville did well to deny a visiting forward with a well timed tackle and Amey was also forced to make a fine save to deny a Magpies break through. However the visitors pressure paid off on 77 minutes when a left wing corner was met with a low shot which Amey could only parry and the ball fell to Andy Griffin to convert from close range. With the home defence beginning to look stretched the Magpies forced anther fine save from Amey after a well worked free-kick and then struck the bar in the final minutes, but Borough held on to earn a share of the points.
