Borough Scorers: Alex Allen 45, Alex Jones 82.

Once again Borough were left to rue a poor first half performance as a much improved showing after the break was only let down by ill discipline which probably cost Borough at least a share of the points as Sherborne held out to collect the double at Turlin Moor. Borough's goalkeeping crises continued and Shaun Clarke had to go between the sticks while with David Perry still injured, new signing Simon Fitch made his Hornets debut up front.

After an even opening period Sherborne carved out a clear chance on 18 minutes when Paul Bayston lost the ball at the back to allow a visiting forward through but Clarke did well to divert the resulting drive over the bar. However two minutes later Tony White was dispossessed by Sam Jarman who ran clear to tuck his shot past Clarke.

Sherborne doubled their lead on 27 minutes as Nick Jacobs broke the Borough offside trap to latch on to a through ball wide on the right before cutting inside and finishing past Clarke from a tight angle.

With Sherborne in the ascendancy Jacobs had a further opportunity to increase the lead as he latched onto a right wing cross but steered the ball the wrong side of the post. However Borough pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time when Alex Jones whipped in an in-swinging corner from the right and Alex Allen was at the far post to steer the home.

Half Time 1-2.

Borough made a double change at the break with Simon Edwards and Lee Thomas coming on and Edwards made an immediate impact as a low drive from 20 yards out went just the wrong side of the post, while further Borough pressure saw an excellent free kick from Jones diverted wide by a defender on the line.

However better finishing from Sherborne would have re-established their two goal cushion on 72 minutes as, with Clarke was drawn wide of his goal, the ball was turned back into the penalty box but a visiting forward headed wide with the goal at his mercy.

This was a wake up call for Borough and on 77 minutes Wassim Elhuadhi launched Thomas wide down the right and his low shot from a tight angle went narrowly wide of the far post. Five minutes later Edwards sent Thomas into space down the right and once again the final shot was inches wide of the upright.

Further Borough pressure saw Thomas cut inside from the right before squaring to Jones whose shot went just over. However ten minutes from time and against the run of play Sherborne's Jamie Barber restored the two-goal lead as he latched onto a long ball forward to sprint clear before sending a perfect lob over the advancing Clarke.

Within two minutes however Borough had given themselves a lifeline as Jones pulled a goal back after stabbing home a right wing cross. However any hope of a Borough comeback faded as first Elhuadhi was sent off for retaliation and in the final minutes Danny Neville and a Sherborne player were both dismissed after a melee in the visitors penalty area.

Borough: Shaun Clarke, Paul Bayston (Simon Edwards H-T), Tony White, Danny Neville, Sean Hebdon, Alex Allen, Wassim Elhuadhi, Andy Barham, Alex Jones, Matt Morris, Simon Fitch (Lee Thomas H-T). Unused Sub: Aaron Woldon.
