Borough Scorers: Alex Allen 82, Lee Thomas 90.

Once again a Manager of the Month recipient tasted defeat as Shaun Brooks received the award for February prior to klck-off but saw Borough beaten by the basement club to end the Hornet's six game unbeaten run. Top scorer David Perry was sidelined following an injury playing for Dorset and Danny Neville started the game leading the line while Matt Morris made his first start since returning from Hamworthy Recreation.

The conditions were difficult, with a strong wind blowing down the pitch, but Rangers adapted much better and the game was won in the first 25 minutes as the home side stormed to a three-goal lead. The first came on 14 minutes as James Heckford saw a long range shot come back off the crossbar and Jason Puzey followed up to convert the rebound.

Wareham doubled their lead on 22 minutes as Mark Gaskell squeezed a low shot past the dive of Doug Shear in the Borough goal and two minutes later with the Hornets committing men forward Heckford latched onto a defensive clearance before rifling home from the edge of the area.

HT 3-0.

Borough made two changes at the interval, bringing on Lee Thomas and Alex Jones and looked a much more effective unit as they battled to find a way back. However an early chance fell to Heckford, but Shear did well to block the shot.

On 53 minutes Tony White carved out a chance with a left wing cross to Alex Allen which was headed just over, but within a minute Shear had to come out quickly to parry as a home forward broke clear.

Further Borough pressure saw Wassim Elhuadhi lift a cross into the area towards Allen who steered the ball past the home keeper but the chance was cleared by a defender and Thomas was sent through on the right by Andy Barham but shot narrowly wide. On 66 minutes Allen found space on the left and unleashed a drive from 20 yards out which cannoned off the bar.

It appeared to be too little too late when Borough finally pulled a goal back on 82 minutes when Allen forced an in swinging corner from Alex Jones over the line. However Lee Thomas gave Borough a glimmer of hope on full time as he cut in from the left and rode a before unleashing an unstoppable shot.

With the referee adding on nearly 10 minutes of stoppage time Borough had the chance to salvage an unlikely point as Allen got to the right by-line and whipped a low cross across the goal mouth which was met by Thomas at the far post but a home defender did well to block the shot on the line and secure his side only their second victory of the season.

Borough: Doug Shear, Sean Leaton (Alex Jones H-T), Tony White, Alex Allen, Sean Hebdon, Simon Edwards, Paul Bayston (Lee Thomas (H-T), Andy Barham, Danny Neville, Wassim Elhuadhi, Matt Morris. Unused Sub: Shaun Brooks.
