Dorset Premier League
Saturday 12th November 2005

Borough Scorers: David Perry 29, 36, 73; Dan Young 31; Own Goal 58.

In his first game in charge of Borough, Shaun Brooks made a number of changes to the starting line-up and included new signing Alex Jones from Wimborne Town into the midfield, but is was 'business as usual' for David Perry as a week after chalking up a hat-trick at Wareham in the Senior Cup, he scored another three goals against the same opposition to take his seasons tally to fourteen.

Perry carved out a chance inside the first minute, running into the area before squaring to Dan Young, whose shot went just wide. On 8 minutes Perry again found space just outside the area but this time a visiting defender got a foot to the ball and deflected it into the path of Young, but the final shot was collected by the keeper.

Wareham though were much improved from the previous week and moved the ball quickly forward to stretch the home defence and a minute after Stuart Amey did well to collect a long range shot, James Heckford broke clear through the middle but Scott Orchard was across quickly to deny the Rangers forward.

On 20 minutes Perry was put into space by Herrington but the visiting keeper was out quickly to block the resulting shot but at the other end Heckford again got behind the home defence but he was unable to get full power to his shot and Amey made a fine save on the edge of his area.

However it was Borough who made the breakthrough on 29 minutes when Young was sent clear down the right wing and his deep cross was met by Perry at the far post, and although his first shot was blocked by the Rangers keeper, the Borough striker forced home the rebound.

Within two minutes Borough has doubled the score, with Perry returning the favour as his low left wing cross was steered in by Young at the near post. And on 36 minutes Borough scored their third when Andy Barham slid an inch perfect pass through to Perry just outside the area who coolly lifted the ball over the Wareham keeper.

Although stunned by the quick turnaround in their fortunes Wareham were unfortunate not to pull at least one goal back before the break as Amey made three fine saves to maintain Borough's advantage into the interval.

Half Time 3-0

Borough made two changes at the restart, bringing on Gary Fooks and Anthony Warrington for Simon Edwards and Dan Young and the Hornets increased their lead on 58 minutes when a shot from Perry took a deflection from a Wareham defender to leave the visiting keeper stranded.

On 65 minutes Jones drove in a cross from the right which Perry just failed to connect to, but Rangers also continued to create chances and a long range effort from a cleared corner rattled the cross bar.

Perry, however was hungry for his hat-trick and after shooting narrowly wide following a good cross field pass by Dan Herrington on 71 minutes, he made no mistake two minutes later as Jones sent him clear through the middle and with a typically strong run into the area Perry took the ball past the keeper before slotting into the empty net.

To their credit Wareham continued to push forward and Sean Hedbon was forced to clear off his line after Orchard was dispossessed on the edge of the area, while Amey made another fine stop to collect a rasping shot from under his crossbar and maintain his well deserved clean sheet.

Borough: Stuart Amey, Shaun Clarke (Matt Welsh 69) Tony White, Scott Orchard, Sean Hebdon, Danny Herrington, Simon Edwards (Gary Fooks H-T), Andy Barham, David Perry, Dan Young (Anthony Warrington H-T), Alex Jones.
