Dorset Premier League
Saturday 7th April 2007

Borough scored five second half goals at the County Ground to gain their biggest win of the season against Hamworthy United Reserves.

The first half gave no indication of the rout to follow as the Hammers bolstered by the inclusion of tall defender Nathan Walker were leading 2-1 before Borough drew level just before the break. Kieran Campbell returned to Borough’s first team and despite not scoring himself had a hand in four of the goals.

Borough took the lead after only four minutes when Campbell broke down the left and his low cross was turned into his own net by Nathan Walker. The defender made amends seven minutes later when his looping header from a corner found the net.

Two minutes later the Hammers were in front as Ben Mowlem shot low into the corner. It was nearly 3-1 as Steve Russell cleared off the line from another Walker header.

Borough pressed for an equaliser with Lee Thomas proving a handful to the home defence, and it finally came in the 44th minute when Campbell picked out Thomas with a pinpoint cross and he headed home.

Half Time 2-2

Borough started the second half as they left off and Dan Young was put through with a clever back-heel by Campbell but missed his shot. On 57 minutes Andy Barham played a one-two with Campbell and slotted home to give Borough the lead.

Hamworthy were unfortunate not to level as another Walker header from a corner beat Shear but somehow Dan Young got back to scoop the ball away. That was Hamworthy’s last chance as Ross Mills came on for Gary Williams and within five minutes had scored.

Two minutes later the Hamworthy keeper chased a ball out to the wing but lost possession to Mills, who crossed for Campbell to set up Barham to slot home. Adam Nash came on for Campbell and scored with a shot into the top corner after good work by Thomas.

With five minutes to go Thomas headed in a cross from Mills to make it seven.
