A Paul Honeybun strike deep in injury time gave Borough a deserved win at Barnetts Field after they controlled much of the game and provided Paul Harding with his first away win since taking over at the helm, after the Hornets boss earlier saw his side gift the Cherries with both their goals.

Borough took the initiative from the opening whistle, but found themselves behind on 18 minutes when Elliott Broome failed to control a back pass and James Able nipped in to steal the ball off of the Borough keeper and convert into an empty net. However Borough almost delivered an immediate response when a three man move set up Honeybun on the edge of the area but his shot was palmed away by the home keeper and a minute later Ken Strong saw a long range effort tipped over the bar.

Almost continuous pressure from the Hornets saw them come close again on 38 minutes when Alex Grimason battled into the area and saw his shot blocked by the keeper and Ross Edwards was first to the loose ball and squared to Kieran Campbell six yards out, but the keeper recovered quickly to smother the shot.

However two minutes later Borough deservedly drew level when Grimason got past a defender on the right wing and his cross was cleared to Mariusz Iglewski whose blistering low drive from 30 yards out beat the keeper inside the left hand post.

A minute from the break, Borough came close to taking the lead when Strong got his head to a left wing corner but saw the ball go narrowly wide.

Half Time 1-1

Borough continued as they left off after the break and took the lead on 49 minutes when Ross Edwards was picked out by a low cross and fired in a shot from inside the area which the home keeper appeared to have blocked but the power of the strike took it over the line.

The Cherries carved out their first clear chance on 60 minutes when a long ball forward from their keeper sent Simon Freak clear of the Borough defence, but the final shot was pushed past the post by Broome. Four minutes later Borough were denied a third goal after Iglewski drew the home keeper on the left before whipping in a cross to Edwards, whose shot appeared to have struck a defenders arm on the line, but the referee indicated that it had come off his chest.

Sturminster began to push Borough back for the first time in the game and found themselves on level terms after 66 minutes when John Bates attempted to clear a cross from the left, but sliced the ball into his own net. The game began to open up and after a double substitution from the Hornets they came close again after 82 minutes when Campbell broke through and forced a fine block from the home keeper with Chris Squire puting the rebound just wide.

At the end of normal time Sturminster could have wrapped up the game after a high ball into the area picked out a home striker unmarked but Broome saved well with his legs.

With the referee adding on significant time which was wasted retrieving what at times appeared to be the only match ball available, Borough struck six minutes into injury time with an attack initiated by Adam Watson and supported by both Campbell and Squire, who held the ball well on the edge of the area before feeding it to Honeybun closing in from the right who rifled home from 20 yards out to secure all three points for the Hornets.
