Dorset County Reserve
League Constitution for 2008/09 Season In the competition's third season the Dorset County Reserve League has increased from 12 to 13 clubs. Promoted to the division are the reserve sides of Cranborne and Swanage Town & Herston, while Cobham Sports Reserves have dropped out of the league.
Dorset Premier League Constitution for 2008/09 Season The Dorset Premier League constitution for the 2008/09 Season has been finalised. With champions Portland United making the decision not to seek promotion, runners-up Gillingham Town saw their application to step up into the Western League accepted. Subject to ratification at the League AGM, replacing them will be Dorset Senior League Champions Chickerell United, following a successful assessment of their Cranford Avenue (Weymouth College) ground. This will be Chickerell's first season in the County's top flight, however the Chickens should provide strong opposition, having won the Dorset Senior League by a clear 16 points from their nearest rivals, Bournemouth University. Cranford Avenue was previously a DPL ground when it was home to Weymouth Sports until they left the league in 2003. Despite various attempts to see the number of sides increased in time for next season, the DPL will consist of 15 teams again, after Bournemouth University's application to join the D.P.L was turned down as they did not fulfil the correct rules governing promotion between the D.C.F.A & the D.P.L .
